The South Carolina Department of Children’s Advocacy seeks an experienced IU Investigator to handle intake, referral, monitoring, and investigation of complaints about services to SC children across multiple state agencies.
Under supervision, you will engage with complainants, DCA staff, and external partners to ensure timely, safe and effective services while upholding confidentiality and legal requirements. This role involves collaboration, ongoing training, and potential statewide travel.

Under direct supervision by the Agency Director or designee, the employee will be responsible for accepting, referring, monitoring, and investigating complaints submitted against Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, Department of Public Health, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Juvenile Justice, Office of Mental Health, Department of Social Services, SC Governor's School for Agriculture at John de la Howe, School for the Deaf and Blind, and Wil Lou Gray Opportunity School in an effort to ensure that children under the care of a state agency particularly children served by the child welfare or juvenile justice systems, receive timely, safe, and effective services and to safeguard the health, safety, and well-being of all children receiving services.
Employee will be guided by the Agency's intake and investigative policy and procedure and must be capable of working independently and collaboratively with other people and agencies in a respectful and professional manner.
Bachelor's Degree and professional experience as an investigator.
Demonstrated knowledge of law and policy regarding Department of Social Services and Department of Juvenile Justice procedures and experience with conducting investigations.
