Job description

Overview

Eland Engineering, a GAI Consultants company, is seeking an ITS Utility Locator to work out of its Fort Lauderdale, FL office. This full-time position will report to the ITS Maintenance Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Identify the underground location and delineate and mark on the ground existing utilities, per requests from Sunshine State One Call, Vendor Project Supervisor, or FDOT Project Manager or designer.
• Perform utility locates including, but not limited to, fiber optic cables, power cables, and composite cables that constitute Department ITS underground utilities.
• Meet with the Utility Locates Requesting Party in the field as necessary to supplement marking ITS utilities.
• Assist the ITS Maintenance technician and electrician in installing, maintaining, and repairing ITS devices when available.
• Respond to emergency utility locate tickets as requested by the Vendor Project Supervisor and/or Department’s Project Manager or designer.
• Document and photograph the work performed on all utility locating and daily activities.

Experience & Education

• 2-4 years of related experience
• High school diploma from an accredited high school. Technical coursework in related field is preferred.
