AtkinsRéalis is seeking an ITS/Traffic Engineering Intern to join our Edison, New Jersey office. You will assist engineers with traffic and ITS projects, support data collection and analysis, and help prepare engineering reports and presentations.

The role offers exposure to traffic studies, signal analyses, and transportation planning tasks, with field visits, and collaboration within the project team. Completion of 90 credit hours toward a civil/transportation engineering degree is required.

Formación

• Must have completed at least 90 hours toward a civil engineering/Transportation Engineering bachelor's degree by Spring 2027.
• No experience is generally required for accepted Civil Engineering Bachelor’s degree program.
• Basic knowledge of traffic engineering principles and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.

Overview

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an ITS/Traffic Engineering Intern to join our Edison, New Jersey office.

Your role

• Learn industry tools, standards, and best practices related to transportation engineering and ITS.

About you

• EXPERIENCE: No experience is generally required if accepted into a Civil Engineering Bachelor’s degree program
• EDUCATION: Must have completed at least 90 hours towards a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university by the start of the internship (Spring 2027).
• SPECIAL SKILLS: Basic knowledge of traffic engineering principles and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Additional information

Expected compensation range is between $25 - $31 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
