Job summary

Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) invites applications for the ITS Standards Engineer position in Salt Lake City. You will support the ITS Deployment and Maintenance team, updating standards, serving on the standards committee, and developing manuals.

Qualifications

• Must be a registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Utah.
• A minimum of two years of engineering experience post-licensure is required.
• Underfill Option: Candidates with at least one year of post-PE experience may be considered for an Engineer III underfill position.

Responsibilities

• Updating and developing UDOT Standard Drawings and Specifications relating to ITS.
• Participating in the UDOT standards committee and reviewing proposed standards changes from other groups.
• Developing and updating ITS-related manuals and guidelines (e.g., ITS Design Manual).
• Maintaining and tracking Traffic Management Division equipment contracts; coordinating renewals and new contracts.
• Collaborating to ensure equipment requirements are well-written and meet needs.
• Keeping State Furnished Materials Forms up to date for ITS projects and orders.
• Assisting Region ITS Managers with duties, including reviewing ITS plans and coordinating communications.
