Overview

Iteris is looking for a Traffic/ITS Project Engineer in the Transportation/Traffic Engineering industry. The ideal candidate will work remotely in Virginia and primarily focus on contract administration and serving as Project Engineer for Task Orders. The position will perform ITS and Traffic Engineering planning and design work within Virginia. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and detail-oriented professional that owns their role and seeks to define excellence.

What you will be doing
  • Traffic engineering and ITS planning and design
  • Strategic planning
  • Program implementation support
  • Conducting research on best practices nationally
  • Managing multiple projects and producing design plans, conduct analysis and research, produce documents, communicate with client, and supporting traffic operations, TSMO, ITS and traffic engineering programs
What you need to be successful in this role
  • Bachelor's Science degree in Civil Engineering or related field required
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Traffic Management, TSMO, ITS, Traffic Engineering, or Transportation Design and Planning
  • Ideal candidate is preferred to be located within the Richmond, VA or Fairfax, VA metro area
  • Professional Engineer's license is required
  • Experience with Traffic and ITS design
  • Experience applying transportation engineering and/or planning principles such as design criteria, project goals, and specifications and standards
  • Experience managing consultant task orders and contract administration
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with project team
  • Ability to effectively plan and schedule work

Iteris anticipates paying a base salary between $97,600 and $108,700 for this role. Actual pay offered may be below or above these amounts, depending on the individual's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
