REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

The ITS Epic Analyst – Rev Cycle/HIM/Access reports directly to the Lead/Supervisor/Manager/Director and has no direct reports.

POSITION SUMMARY

The analyst is responsible for maintenance/support, and evaluation of existing or new functionality related to assigned applications. The role involves contributing to and participating in the selection, design, implementation, maintenance, and support of assigned software applications, serving as a mentor for less experienced IT staff.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
  1. Planning/Design: Participates with technical teams and vendors for designing application infrastructure, hardware, storage, network requirements, security, integrations, viewing, and workflow.
  2. Development/Build: Plans implementations and upgrades of clinical systems.
  3. Testing: Ensures adequate testing, quality assurance, and documentation of changes. Creates and reviews test scripts to reflect workflow solutions.
  4. Training/Certifications: Transfers knowledge, trains IT staff and end-users, maintains documentation, and supports training teams. Maintains required certifications.
  5. Implementation: Handles activities like analysis, development, implementation, modification, and installation of low complexity systems, following documented procedures.
  6. Communication: Creates project plans, participates in meetings, communicates with customers and team members, and attends scheduled meetings.
  7. Maintenance/Support: Monitors system performance, plans decommissioning of applications, ensures solutions are cost-effective and compliant, supports 24/7 on-call rotation, and may require travel.
  8. Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Skills: Progressive knowledge of clinical software applications and healthcare operations, strong motivation, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Certification: Epic Certification in primary application within three months of first Epic class; maintenance of certification is mandatory.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or 3 years' experience in IT.
  • Skills: IT background, effective communication, interpersonal skills, task management, problem-solving, project management, proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, technical support background.
  • Experience: 5-7 years in business or healthcare settings.
  • Certification: Epic certification.
WORKING CONDITIONS

Includes standard physical demands and no PPE requirements. May involve travel and on-call duties, including weekend rotations.
