Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. in Virginia seeks an ITM System & Continuous Improvement Specialist to strengthen the Integrated Transformer Management (ITM) System and advance operational excellence at our South Boston Power Transformers facility.

You will lead Kaizen events, coach teams on Lean principles, and partner with factory leadership to deliver measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost while ensuring compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Lean management systems or continuous improvement.
• Experience with established Lean systems is advantageous (e.g., Toyota, Danaher, Honeywell).
• Lean and/or Six Sigma certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead improvement initiatives and Kaizen events to drive waste elimination and operational excellence.
• Coach colleagues on Lean principles and ITM System usage across the factory.
• Partner with factory leadership to deploy strategy and daily management processes.
• Drive measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost.
• Lead cost-out projects and implement sustainable process enhancements.

In this role, you will partner with leaders and cross-functional teams to strengthen the Integrated Transformer Management (ITM) System, our global business management framework that drives performance, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the organization. You will help shape a culture where innovation, collaboration, accountability, and employee engagement thrive, while supporting initiatives that deliver measurable results in safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost performance. Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.

As a change champion, you will lead improvement initiatives, facilitat eKaizen events, coach colleagues on Lean principles, and support the deployment of strategic objectives across the factory. Your background

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Lean management systems, continuous improvement, manufacturing, engineering, or process improvement.
• Experience with established Lean systems such as Toyota, Danaher, Honeywell, or similar environments is advantageous.
• Lean and/or Six Sigma certifications (Lean Practitioner, Green Belt, or equivalent) are preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to influence, collaborate, and deliver results across diverse teams.
• Strong communication, coaching, facilitation, and leadership capabilities.
