Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools is seeking a Paraeducator Level II for an itinerant Special Education Learning Center position at Sequoyah Elementary School. The role is 6 hours per day, 10 months per year, with wage range $26.23–$40.17 per hour based on years of service.

The paraeducator provides one-on-one support to meet IEP accommodations, may move with the student, and works under the direction of the principal and teachers to promote student learning and well-being.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of child development, instructional strategies and practices applicable to assignment and IEP goals.
• Ability to implement instructional programs and monitor student behavior.
• Ability to read/write/speak English and to work with students with special needs.
• Knowledge of Google Workspace, MS Office and web-based instructional tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small group support to meet IEP accommodations and goals.
• Assist with instructional activities and classroom management.
• Support students with various academic, behavioral, social, emotional, and physical needs.
• May accompany students to different locations as part of itinerant role.
