Job summary

Jefferson County Schools Jefferson High in Shenandoah Junction, West Virginia, seeks a Supervisory Itinerant Special Education Aide for a 200-day term. The aide will assist in implementing instructional programs, supervise students in transit, and support both classroom and bus-based activities under a building administrator.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and be capable of working with diverse student needs, with a focus on student rapport, instruction in small groups

Qualifications

• Must be able to work with students with diverse emotional, physical, and cognitive needs.
• Partial to full supervision of students in classroom settings may be required.
• Ability to follow district policies and supervise during transportation when assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with instructional activities and reinforce lessons.
• Supervise student passengers on the bus and ensure safety restraints are used.
• Establish rapport with students and support behavior and academic planning as directed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the building administrator.
