Job Summary

The Itinerant ECCAT/Supervisory Aide/Registered Behavior Technician supports staff in implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) practices under BCBA supervision. Duties include direct instruction, behavior management, data collection, and collaboration with the school team across multiple schools. The role requires both early childhood classroom assistance and registered behavior technician responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers with classroom operations, lesson planning, and material preparation.
  • Provide direct one‑to‑one and group instruction in K‑2 and early childhood settings.
  • Implement and train staff on evidence‑based intervention strategies following BCBA direction.
  • Collect, record, and summarize data on observable behavior, skill acquisition, and intervention progress.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete session notes, including functional behavior assessment and behavior intervention plans.
  • Collate and analyze data, assist with staff training on behavior plans, and conduct fidelity checks.
  • Respond to incidents, variations, or complaints and report immediately to the BCBA.
  • Collaborate with school teams, attend IEP meetings, and contribute to in‑service programs.
  • Adapt instructional activities for students with disabilities, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
  • Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 20 lbs of supplies or assisting in transporting students on wheels.
  • Stand by for on‑call duties, including bus, lunchroom, hall monitoring, and playground supervision.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned by the Principal or BCBA.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Current, or ability to obtain, Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification; 40 hours of qualified training, competency assessment, and BACB exam required if not already held.
  • Pass a criminal background check and abuse registry check.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with children and adults, maintain professional relationships, and communicate clearly.
  • Strong organizational skills, including data entry and record‑keeping.
  • Ability to function in a busy, loud environment, lift and move up to 90 lbs, and manage physical demands of supervising students at all times.
  • Adhere to confidentiality, safety, and ethical guidelines established by the county and state.
  • Ready for ongoing professional development and participation in in‑service training.
Physical Demands

Frequent lifting or moving up to 20 lbs of supplies; pushing/pulling up to 90 lbs of equipment or student wheeled chairs. Standing, walking, and reaching for extended periods. Ability to perform tasks that require hands, fingers, and repetitive motions. Requires good vision and hearing in a noisy environment.

Work Environment

The position is performed in a school setting with moderate to loud noise levels, occasional exposure to infection, and continuous interaction with students, families, and staff. Rapid responses to student behaviors and emergencies are expected.
