Job summary

Guntersville City Schools is seeking a Lunchroom Worker to assist in preparing and serving nutritious meals in a clean, friendly cafeteria environment.

The position is based in the school kitchens, follows a 185-day contract, and reports to the Child Nutrition Director. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and meet health/school requirements.

Qualifications

• Meet State Health Department and State Board of Education requirements.

• Demonstrated aptitude for successful performance of the tasks listed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing highly nutritious, quality food to all students served in a clean, friendly atmosphere
• Maintain the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen and serving areas; ensuring all health department requirements and regulations are maintained and followed
• Maintain proper and professional relationship with employees and students
• Exhibit personal grooming and dress appropriately to food service
• Assist in the preparation and serving of food efficiently and in a pleasant manner; to include following all recipe/menu components as planned
• Perform major cleaning of equipment and store rooms at regularly scheduled intervals as directed by the manager
• Responsible for storage and proper disposal of leftover foods
• Maintains such records as necessary for accountability; to include time and temperature logs, proper counts on left over portions and preparation logs where applicable
• Assists with weekly receiving of food and supplies; to include checking in and putting up stock
• Perform duties in a manner that promotes good public relations; to include ability to work well alongside other employees, staff and students
• Perform additional assignments as required or assigned which may include promotions, professional development opportunities, in-service meetings
• Other duties as assigned by the Child Nutrition Director and/or Superintendent.
