Job summary

Parkrose School District in Portland, Oregon, seeks a Temporary Certified Autism Skills Trainer - Itinerant for the 2026-2027 school year. The role involves direct implementation of skills acquisition and behavior intervention plans under the supervision of the Autism Specialist; RBT credentials are preferred.

You will collaborate with classroom educators, collect data, and support students with autism in various settings. Temporary position with hourly pay and a generous benefits package.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Criminology, Social Work or related field required.
• Three (3) years experience working with students with autism, behavior and/or mental health issues preferred.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Criminology, Social Work or related field will substitute for two (2) years experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide behavior intervention services to increase and improve skills and functional abilities of students assigned to caseload under the direction of the Autism Specialist.
• Assist educators with implementation of classroom instruction and work with students during instructional activities.
• Implement, assess, and evaluate intervention plans designed by IEP teams.
• Develop relationships with a diverse community and student population.
• Collect data about student behaviors and report findings.
