IT Vendor Manager
The IT Vendor Manager provides operational direction for vendormanagement, contract administration, software portfolio management,and technology risk coordination. This position supports effectivetechnology management while promoting financial stewardship,security, accessibility, compliance, and operational effectiveness.The Manager assists in evaluating processes and contributing to thedevelopment of policies, procedures, and programs related toprocurement, vendor governance, contract lifecycle management, andcompliance. The position serves as a key resource for InformationTechnology and university stakeholders regarding contracts, vendorengagements, and associated review processes.

Job Description
Typical duties may include but are not limited to:
- Provides operational oversight of Information Technology vendormanagement, contract administration, software portfolio management,renewals, and third-party technology risk review processes.
- Participates in the planning, development, and implementationof departmental goals, policies, procedures, and initiativesrelated to technology procurement, vendor management, contractlifecycle management, and compliance.
- Collaborates with appropriate university departments andstakeholders to coordinate technology contracts, vendorengagements, procurement activities, and related reviewprocesses.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for strategic vendorrelationships and technology contracts. Monitors vendorperformance, coordinates vendor reviews, and collaborates withstakeholders to address issues and ensure contract compliance.
- Supports technology sourcing activities, including vendorevaluations, contract negotiations, renewals, and procurementactivities, while identifying opportunities to improve contractterms, optimize software licensing, consolidate solutions, andsupport effective use of university resources.
- Partners with Information Technology leadership and Finance tosupport budget planning, forecasting, renewal planning, andmanagement of technology expenditures.
- Coordinates technology risk and compliance activities,including the Higher Education Community Vendor Assessment Toolkit(HECVAT) process, and supports the review of vendor security,privacy, accessibility, and compliance documentation.
- Establishes and maintains procedures, workflows, reports,dashboards, and documentation to support vendor management,contract administration, software portfolio management, andtechnology risk coordination.
- Provides reports and recommendations to Information Technologyleadership regarding vendor performance, contract status, renewals,technology risks, software utilization, cost trends, andopportunities for improvement.
- Responsible for ensuring that all programs and activitiescomply with university, state, and federal regulations.
- Tracks annual and multi-year budget needs for technologyproducts and services, including planned renewals, anticipatedincreases, new contractual obligations, and potential savingsopportunities.

Required Qualifications:
- This position requires either six years of directly relatedfull-time experience or, as an alternative, a Bachelor's degreefrom an accredited institution and two years of full-timeexperience directly related to the job functions.
- Experience operating a personal computer and proficient withMicrosoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher, andOutlook).
- Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience,and/or certifications may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree from an accredited institution in InformationTechnology.
- 5 years experience in technology procurement, including vendormanagement, technology contracts, and software licensing.
- Experience with procurement processes, contract routing,purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and renewals.
- Experience reviewing technology contracts, vendor quotes,licensing terms, renewal proposals, statements of work, or serviceagreements.
- Experience in higher education, government, or anotherpublic-sector environment.
- Experience supporting RFP, RFI, sole-source, contract renewal,contract amendment, vendor negotiation, or competitive sourcingprocesses.
