Job summary

Kenworth Sales Company is seeking an IT Technician to support networking, desktops, telephony, and systems administration from Salt Lake City, UT. You’ll configure and install systems, perform on-site troubleshooting, and maintain IT equipment across locations.

The role requires 2–3 years IT support experience and strong troubleshooting across hardware, software, OS, networking, and VoIP. Windows and Linux environments are used with AD/LAN/WAN.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 2 technical support to corporate and remote users.

• Configure, deploy, and install new hardware, software, and network appliances.
• Troubleshoot printers, desktops, laptops, tablets, and telephony systems.
• Assist Help Desk with ticket logging, escalation, and documentation.
• Communicate clearly through tickets, email, phone, and direct interactions.
• Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

IT Technician – Salt Lake City, UT

Salary Minimum and Maximum: $26.50-$28.80 per hour.

Job Summary

Provide support for general networking, desktop systems, telephony, and systems administration. Configure and install new systems and network appliances, and perform on‑site troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of IT systems and equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 2 technical support to corporate and remote branch users, including resolving escalated issues from Help Desk Tier 1 staff and responding to requests from Information Systems management.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and support servers, endpoints, networks, storage systems, Active Directory, telephony systems, and business applications.
• Configure, deploy, and install new hardware, software, systems, and network appliances for district locations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to printers, hardware, desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile devices, telephony systems, network, and voice services.
• Assist with Help Desk operations by providing phone coverage, logging, and tracking support tickets, documenting issues and resolutions, and ensuring timely escalation of requests when appropriate.
• Communicate clearly and professionally through support tickets, email correspondence, phone conversations, and direct interactions with customers, management, and peers.
• Manage multiple priorities and competing demands in a fast‑paced environment, adapt effectively to changing business needs and technology needs, and demonstrate reliable attendance, accountability, and timely follow through on assigned tasks, projects, and support requests.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Ability to read, write, and comprehend English instructions and information. High School Diploma/GED required; Associate degree in a computer‑related field preferred. 2–3 years of IT support experience. Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, operating systems, networking, and VoIP technologies. Experience supporting Windows 11, Windows Server 2019+, Microsoft and Linux environments, plus LAN/WAN and wireless networks. Excellent customer service, communication, problem‑solving, multitasking, and teamwork skills with the ability to work independently. Preferred certifications: CompTIA A+/Network+, Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, RingCentral, VMware ESX/ESXi, Fujitsu scanners, HP, Cisco, Peplink, Meraki, Ubiquiti networking platforms.

Working Conditions

This position involves both sedentary and physically demanding work. Part of the shift at a desk; part on the dealership facility. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and travel to remote sites as needed. Must be available for on‑call rotation including evenings and weekends. Work hours vary based on maintenance windows and service outages.
