The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB Group) seeks a detail-oriented IT Technical Support Consultant to assist the SEC with preparations for the Annual Meeting and provide user support.

You will work in ISD in the Office of the Secretary, handling equipment setup, inventory, troubleshooting, and deploying new technologies such as facial recognition.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Systems Engineer.
• At least 2 years of progressive experience in IT and hardware administration.
• Proficiency in English and Spanish, spoken and written; French and Portuguese are preferable.

• Place orders and monitor purchases of equipment and supplies for the Annual Meeting.
• Update and maintain inventory database.
• Prepare shipment of equipment and supplies for the Annual Meeting.
• Organize SEC storage area.
• Research purchases of hardware and software for the Annual Meeting.

• Configure and perform maintenance on hardware.
• Participate in the setup of the registration area and access control kiosks for the annual meeting, support them, and perform other tasks as needed.

About this position

We are looking for a detail-oriented, proactive, and tech-savvy IT Technical Support Consultant. As an IT Technical Support Consultant you will play a crucial role in assisting the SEC with preparations for the Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors and providing essential user support.

You will work in the Information Systems & Digital Innovation Section (ISD) part of the Office of the Secretary (SEC). This team is responsible, among other things, for preparing, configuring and installing equipment to be used during the Annual Meeting, maintaining inventory databases, troubleshooting hardware issues, and supporting SEC users.

The Secretariat’s main function is to provide services for the IDB and IIC Boards of Governors and Boards of Executive Directors (including their internal committees), the MIF Donors Committee, and senior management. For meetings—and especially seminars—organized by one of the Bank’s departments, all meeting-related services are the responsibility of the department in question, with the Secretariat lending advisory assistance and logistical support as needed.

What you'll need

• Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Systems Engineer.
• Experience: At least 2 years of progressive experience in IT and hardware administration
• Languages: Proficiency in English and Spanish, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

Type of contract and duration

• International consultant Full-Time, 03 months (up to 48 months, subject to eligibility).
