Job summary

Gemini Industries is seeking a senior IT Systems Engineer to support government programs in the NCR region, focusing on systems engineering, network architecture, and AI-enabled solutions.

You will lead requirements analysis, design, and administration of computer systems, oversee projects, and mentor engineers. A TS/SCI clearance and relevant DoW-aligned experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Five or more years of work-related experience.
  • At least four years in a DoW-aligned environment.
  • Experience as a Systems Engineer.
  • Security+ or DAWIA equivalent certification.
  • Graduate of an ABET-accredited systems engineering program.
  • Joint Staff experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support efforts to develop business process re-engineering recommendations based on acquisitions processes and information flows to/from the intelligence community.
  • Meet with management to assess and define system requirements.
  • Analyze network data and infrastructure to identify inefficiencies and problems.
  • Develop and design network architecture and computer systems infrastructure.
  • Oversee development, installation, configuration, and administration of computer systems.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and documentation.
  • Monitor computer systems and networks for issues; troubleshoot and resolve.
  • Prepare network analytics, data reports, and operational manuals.
  • Use Generative AI tools to accelerate tasks and propose process improvements.
  • Train the engineering team on new systems, protocols, and best practices.

About the Role

IT Systems Engineer (Systems Administrator – Senior (NCR)). Location: Ft. Washington, VA (primary duties at Ft. Washington, MD). Clearance: TS/SCI.

Education: BA/BS or AA/AS plus an additional four years of work‑related experience.

Outcomes
  • Formally track all tasks, including assignment, status, and comments, and be prepared to brief upon request.
  • Develop digital continuity folders and files that include standard operating procedures, workflows, and POC lists to accomplish all tasks.
  • Create 2–3 products beyond the client’s requirements that positively impact the client by increasing efficiency, effectiveness, or innovation.
  • Establish a foundation in AI/ML skills and contribute to AI/ML operationalization and modernization goals and objectives.
  • Master position tasks within 60 days and exceed requirements within 90 days.
  • Use government‑provided Generative AI tools on a day‑to‑day basis to accelerate tasks, research, documentation, analysis, planning, reporting, and problem solving.
  • Make recommendations on process improvements and practices that improve quality, speed, and/or efficiency.

  • Train the engineering team on new systems, protocols, and best practices.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of five (5) years of work‑related experience.
  • At least four (4) of those years in a Department of War (DoW)–aligned environment.
  • Experience as a Systems Engineer.
  • Security+ or DAWIA equivalent certification.
  • Graduate of an ABET‑accredited systems engineering program.
  • Joint Staff experience.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledgeable and skilled in applying Generative AI.
  • Experience in IT systems integration.
  • Experience in database integration techniques.
  • Experience in data visualization.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering tools (e.g., Sparx EA, Cameo, Core).
  • Enterprise architecture development.
  • Knowledge of JCIDS, PPBE, and DAS.
  • Process mapping (e.g., BPMN or other).
  • Modeling and simulation.
Travel

Vicinity travel within the NCR.
