Job summary

FM Industries is seeking an IT System Administrator / Cyber Security Analyst in Fremont, CA. This full-time role combines hands-on system administration with security analysis to strengthen our IT and security posture.

The ideal candidate will manage Windows/Linux servers, AD, virtualization, and cloud services, while leading vulnerability management and incident response efforts. 5+ years in IT, with 2+ in security, are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Cybersecurity or equivalent.
• 5+ years of progressive systems administration experience.
• At least 2 years in a security-focused role.
• Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux administration, AD, and networking.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure with security focus.
• Administer Windows and/or Linux servers, AD, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
• Manage virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V) and storage/backup.
• Oversee patching, upgrades, and lifecycle refreshes.
• Monitor performance, capacity, and security events (SIEM, firewalls).
• Provide Tier 3 support and incident response coordination.
• Support audits, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance.
