Job summary

A leading technology firm located in Tennessee is looking for a Quality Control Specialist. The role involves ensuring the quality of various IT systems, performing inspections, maintaining documentation, and providing installation support. Candidates must have a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a related field with the requisite experience and possess a SECRET security clearance. The work includes both physical inspections and technical support for voice and data communications systems, requiring a keen attention to detail and adherence to industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 0-5+ years' experience or Associate's degree with 7+ years' experience.
  • SECRET security clearance required.
  • Experience in IT installation and testing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide QC support on IT systems.
  • Perform inspections and maintain QC checklists.
  • Witness critical aspects of construction and perform IT testing.
  • Implement incident response procedures during security breaches.

Job description

Responsibilities

Provide Quality Control (QC) support on a wide variety of IT systems, including premises wiring; inside plant (ISP) infrastructure, telecommunications rooms/areas, and outside cable plant (OSP) infrastructure. Experience with TIA and ANSI standards is required.

  • Perform walkthroughs/inspections.
  • Review and validate installation procedures.
  • Maintain QC checklists and logs.
  • Witness IT testing.
  • Witness critical aspects (e.g., concrete encasement, mandrelings) of outside plant construction.
  • Perform checkpoint reviews and file reports.
  • Attend project briefings.
  • Provide installation and operational support of voice and data communications hardware and software systems.
  • Design, develop, implement, test, debug, and maintain communications systems.
  • Perform configuration of operating system and security patches for host and distributed systems; implement incident response procedures during network or host security breaches.
  • Comply with prescribed customer, industry, and agency standards.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related discipline with 0-5+ years' experience, or
  • Associate's degree in computer science, engineering, or related discipline with 7+ years' experience.
  • SECRET security clearance.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Up to five (5) years experience in IT installation and testing.
  • Experience with optical fiber and copper cable testing.
  • Experience with grounding, bonding, and shielding.
  • Familiarity with ANSI/TIA standards.
  • Familiarity with military IT/construction projects.
Physical Requirements
  • Standing for long periods.
  • Ambulate throughout a building.
  • Ambulate between several buildings.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, as required.
