Job summary

INCATech - Innovative Computing & Applied Technology in Springfield, VA is seeking a Geospatial System Engineer to implement ArcGIS deployments, analyze complex problems, and optimize performance. You will deploy ArcGIS across Windows and Linux, plan migrations, and advise clients on enterprise GIS architecture.

Onsite work is required across multiple locations, with emphasis on security and scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience in a geospatial/system engineering role.
• Experience deploying ArcGIS across diverse environments.
• Strong Windows and/or Linux system administration.
• Proficiency in scripting/programming (Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, C#).
• Knowledge of networking concepts (DNS, firewalls, load balancers).
• Experience with at least one RDBMS (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
• Bachelor's degree in CS, Mathematics, GIS or STEM; Master’s preferred.
• Certifications such as Esri, Microsoft, Amazon or CompTIA Security+.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and configure ArcGIS across OSes, cloud providers, security architectures to meet SLAs.
• Plan and execute content migrations between ArcGIS deployments.
• Troubleshoot advanced ArcGIS deployments (storage, networking, security).
• Work with customers to design GIS workflows for ArcGIS platform.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align objectives with Esri technology.

LOCATION: Springfield VA, Vienna, VA St. Louis, MO, potentially other locations. ALL work will be onsite. Clearance: MUST possess active Top Secret with SCI and an ACTIVE CI Polygraph

INCATech is URGENTLY searching for a Geospatial System Engineer. In this position, you will implement advanced ArcGIS deployments, analyze and solve technical problems, and optimize performance and organization. You will consult with end users on advanced enterprise deployment, architecture and integration topics.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deploy and configure ArcGIS in a wide variety of environments across operation systems, cloud providers, security architectures, customer types and organizations, to meet the customer's service level agreement
• Plan and execute the migration of content from one ArcGIS deployment to another, encompassing different architectures, deployment strategies and software components
• Troubleshoot advanced ArcGIS deployments, providing guidance for platform components such as storage, networking and security
• Work closely with customers and partners to identify, design, and certify key GIS workflows for the ArcGIS platform
• Collaborate internally to help customer organizations align their technical objectives and business goals with Esri's technology platform

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications Related Experience

• 8+ years of professional experience in a similar position supporting similar responsibilities
• Experience designing, implementing and/or administrating enterprise ArcGIS or other comparable IT systems (desktop, server and online)
• Broad system administration experience on Windows and/or Linux
• Working knowledge of at least one scripting or programming language (such as Python, PowerShell, Javascript, C#)
• Familiarity with network concepts and topics (such as domains, directories, DNS, HTTPS, firewalls, proxies, load-balancing)
• Experience with at least one RDBMS, including SQL query writing (such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or STEM related field Preferred
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or STEM related field
• One or more industry-standard IT certifications (such as Esri, Microsoft, Amazon)
• CompTIA Security + certification
• Experience with Esri software including ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online, Portal for ArcGIS and ArcGIS Runtime and their associates APIs or interfaces
• Cloud-based system operations (SysOps)
