Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior engineers and product teams to develop, test, and deploy software solutions
• Assist in automating build, deployment, and monitoring processes for new and existing applications
• Write and maintain technical documentation for code, processes, and system architecture
• Participate in code reviews and follow established software development best practices
• Support the debugging and resolution of basic software or system issues as escalated
• Analyze data and write queries to support troubleshooting and performance monitoring
• Continuously learn new technologies and contribute to process improvements

JOB DESCRIPTION

The IT Systems Engineer is a key part of the Treasury Management technology team, supporting the design, development, deployment, and monitoring of software solutions at First Horizon. This entry-level position is ideal for recent graduates in computer science or related fields who are eager to learn, contribute to real-world projects, and grow their technical skills in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior engineers and product teams to develop, test, and deploy software solutions
• Assist in automating build, deployment, and monitoring processes for new and existing applications
• Write and maintain technical documentation for code, processes, and system architecture
• Participate in code reviews and follow established software development best practices

Desired Skills

• Experience with Java and/or Python for application development
• Knowledge of React or another modern front-end framework (Angular, Node JS, etc.)
• Exposure to build automation and deployment tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Bitbucket, etc.)
• Foundational understanding of cloud computing concepts and platforms (ie: Azure, AWS, etc.)
• Basic experience with application monitoring tools and concepts
• Awareness of Artificial Intelligence, with a willingness to explore its practical applications in business
• Ability to write and analyze data queries (SQL or similar)
• Attention to detail in technical documentation
• Eagerness to learn in a team-oriented environment
