Job summary

BCforward seeks an IT Systems Engineer to join our team. The role focuses on enterprise infrastructure, virtualization, Microsoft platforms, and hybrid cloud to deliver reliable, secure services at scale.

Responsibilities include managing Cisco HyperFlex/UCS, VMware ESXi, Active Directory, Cohesity backups, Citrix VAD, and Azure integration. Travel domestically/internationally may be required and on-call duties apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years supporting enterprise infrastructure environments.
• 5+ years administering Microsoft server and infrastructure technologies.
• 5+ years with VMware vSphere and ESXi or equivalent platforms.
• Experience with Cisco HyperFlex and Cisco UCS or equivalent converged platforms.
• Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS.
• Experience with Cohesity backup and recovery.
• Experience with MECM and SCOM or equivalents.
• Experience supporting Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops.
• Strong understanding of server, storage, networking, virtualization, and cloud.

Responsibilities

• Lead lifecycle management: upgrades, patching, capacity planning, tuning.
• Monitor health, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure availability.

Job description

We are seeking an IT Systems Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in enterprise infrastructure, virtualization, Microsoft platforms, and hybrid cloud and a proven ability to deliver reliable, secure, and performant infrastructure services at scale.

Responsibilities:

• Implement, administer, maintain, and support Cisco HyperFlex and Cisco UCS infrastructure.
• Administer VMware vSphere and ESXi environments for critical enterprise workloads.
• Administer Microsoft services including Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, MECM, and SCOM.
• Manage enterprise backup, recovery, replication, archive, and disaster recovery with Cohesity.
• Administer and support Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, including image management and performance optimization.
• Support Microsoft Azure services and hybrid cloud initiatives.
• Execute lifecycle management including upgrades, patching, capacity planning, performance tuning, and refresh.
• Monitor infrastructure health and availability. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
• Provide technical recommendations and engineering input for infrastructure projects and strategy.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Security, Network, Application, and Global IT teams to meet business requirements.
• Lead or participate in projects, migrations, upgrades, and operational improvements.
• Create and maintain documentation, standards, procedures, and runbooks.
• Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and business continuity.
• Coordinate with vendors, consultants, service providers, and international IT teams.
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years supporting enterprise infrastructure environments.
• 5+ years administering Microsoft server and infrastructure technologies.
• 5+ years with VMware vSphere and ESXi or equivalent platforms.
• Experience with Cisco HyperFlex and Cisco UCS or equivalent converged or hyperconverged platforms.
• Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS.
• Experience with enterprise backup and recovery, preferably Cohesity.
• Experience with MECM and SCOM or equivalent tools.
• Experience supporting Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops.
• Strong understanding of server, storage, networking, virtualization, and cloud.
• Experience with planning, implementation, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
• Customer service orientation and stakeholder management skills.
• Effectiveness in a collaborative global team environment.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally, including Japan.
• Ability to participate in on-call support.

Preferred Skills:

• Microsoft certifications for Windows Server, Azure, Active Directory, MECM, or SCOM.
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or equivalent.
• CCNA or equivalent network certification.
• Cohesity certification or equivalent enterprise backup experience.
• Citrix certification or advanced Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud environments.
• Experience in global organizations with international IT teams.
• Experience in manufacturing environments, preferably semiconductor.
• Project management experience or PMP certification.
• Understanding of application, database, and system architecture principles.
• Familiarity with integrating on-premises, cloud, SaaS, and hosted systems.
