Job summary

SGL Carbon SE is seeking an IT Service professional for our St. Marys site in Pennsylvania. The role covers IT and OT systems, workplace devices, data center infrastructure, and related networks.

You will handle incidents, service requests, and projects with a focus on reliability and stepwise improvements. Ideal candidates have two+ years in IT/field service, knowledge of Windows 11 and Office 365, and a knack for independent work and communication.

Qualifications

• Completed education with a focus on computer science / business informatics & ITIL foundation or similar.
• Minimum two years of experience in IT and field service.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Systems such as Windows 11, Office 365, SharePoint, Teams, and InTune/Entra ID.
• Basic understanding of OT Systems, OT Software, and supporting systems.

Job description

The SGL site in St. Marys, Pennsylvania, is our largest graphite component processing site worldwide. It is characterized by its broad product portfolio and expertise in machined, purified and CVD coated parts used especially in the fast growing LED and semiconductor industries. The site is part of the Business Unit Graphite Solutions.

This position supports all IT Service-related topics on Site. The incumbent administrates with the local ITX Team all the activities related to the site information systems, as well as Production related Operations Technology (OT) systems. This includessupport for all workplace equipment (e.g., PCs, Tablets, MFP, iPhones etc.), infrastructure and datacenter equipment (e.g. server, storage, router & switches, IT & OT network), as well as SCADA and related systems.

The incumbent will support local programs, projects and operations, handles service requests, incidents, and problems, ensures proper communication to all related interfaces, and gives support in case of failures or interruptions of services.

What to expect:

• Supports IT and OT related topics and issues in a structured manner, implements existing solutions, proposes suitable improvements or new solutions.
• Supports the development of improved or new solutions together with the Competence Centers and local customers.
• Supports local IT and OT projects.
• Ensures compliance with defined processes (e.g., asset, license, incident management) and policies (e.g., Mobile Device, Standard Hardware, or Printer Standard Policy).
• Supports ticket handling, tracking & escalation management for service and project tasks.
• Other duties as assigned/necessary related to IT operations.

What we are looking for:

• Completed education with a focus on computer science / business informatics & ITIL foundation or similar.
• Minimum two years of experience in IT and field service.
• Strong knowledge ofMicrosoft Systems such as Windows 11, Office 365, SharePoint, Teams, and InTune/Entra ID.
• Basic understanding of OT Systems, OT Software, and supporting systems.
• Basic understanding of OSI layers and network principles.
• Basic Technical understanding and strong ability to adopt the technical specialties of business processes supported by the IT and OT systems running at the plant.
• Ability to execute projects or tasks concurrently and meet agreed deadlines.
• Process oriented and critical thinking skillsets.
• Ability to type 40 wpm.
• Ability to work independently.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and grow.
