The role requires strong technical skills, problem-solving, and customer service to minimize downtime and safeguard data. You will support staff, document procedures, and contribute to automation and improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in systems support or similar role.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft) preferred.
  • Completed all required training assigned to the IT position by deadlines.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 2 technical support for employees (hardware, software, and network issues).
  • Deploy and configure new computers, workstations, laptops, monitors, printers, software, and mobile devices.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls (AD, Azure AD).
  • Assist with administration and maintenance of IT systems, servers, and networks.
  • Monitor system performance and report issues to IT Manager.

Job Summary

The IT Support Technician II is responsible for the day-to-day management, maintenance, and optimization of the DBH internal IT infrastructure. This role ensures the reliability, security, and performance of systems including servers, networks, cloud services, and end-user environments.

The position serves as a key technical resource, supporting staff by resolving issues, implementing solutions, and maintaining a stable and secure technology environment that enables business operations. The Support Technician proactively monitors systems, manages access and security controls, and contributes to continuous improvement through automation, documentation, and infrastructure enhancements.

This role requires a balance of strong technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and customer service skills, with a focus on minimizing downtime, safeguarding data, and supporting organizational productivity.

Essential Job Functions

TheIT Support Technician II is responsible for performing the following essential job functions at the expected level and within the expected timeframes:

  • Provide Level 2 technical support and troubleshooting for employees (hardware, software, and network issues).
  • Deploy and configure new computers, workstations, laptops, monitors, printers, software, and mobile devices.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls (Active Directory, Azure AD, etc.).
  • Assist with administration and maintenance of company IT systems, including servers and networks.
  • Monitor system performance and report issues affecting availability and reliability to the IT Manager.
  • Implement and maintain security measures, including antivirus and patch management, as assigned.
  • Perform regular system backups and recovery testing as assigned.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Manage and maintain email systems, file storage, and collaboration tools.
  • Assist with systems configurations and vendor coordination for medical dictation and transcription.
  • Assist with systems configurations for door access control and security camera systems.
  • Support IT projects, upgrades, hardware deployments, and system migrations.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of IT hardware, software, and assigned equipment.
  • Provide onsite technical assistance and elevate complex issues to the IT Manager as appropriate.
  • Other duties and responsibilities and needed and assigned.
Position-specific Job Functions

In addition to the essential job functions outlined above, the following responsibilities are assigned to your specific position.

  • Primary point of contact for IT support requests and ticket resolution and managing the ticket board.
  • Coordinate and perform system deployments and implementations, and process documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve end-user hardware, software, and access issues.
  • Perform other duties and IT projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Certification/Licensure
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft) preferred.
Training
  • Completed all required training that is assigned to the IT Support Technician position by defined deadlines.
Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in systems support or similar role
Preferred
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and compliance standards
  • Experience with endpoint management tools (Intune, SCCM, etc.)
Qualifications/Skills/Abilities

The IT Systems Administrator must possess the following qualifications, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the job:

  • Strong knowledge and experience of Windows environments.
  • Experience with networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPN).
  • Proficiency in Active Directory and Group Policy management, Intune is a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, primarily Microsoft 365 / Azure.
  • Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions and practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • All employees at DBH must successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check as well as a pre-employment drug screening. Since Davis Behavioral Health works with Federal grants the company and its employees must comply with the Federal drug laws, including no use of medical marijuana.

Compensation

The IT Support Technician II position is classified as full-time, exempt.

The approved annual salary range for this position is $55,000.00 to $70,000.00 per year based on direct experience.

Location & Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those and employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

The IT Support Technician will work out of the DBH Main Street Clinic located at 934 South Main Street, Layton, Utah 8404 and is primarily in an office or administrative setting, supporting internal staff and IT infrastructure. The role involves a combination of desk-based work and hands-on technical tasks. The successful candidate is expected to report to the office for work every day.

The IT Manager will frequently work at a computer workstation for extended periods, using standard office equipment such as computers, monitors, and telecommunication devices. This role may also require time in server rooms or network closets, which can involve exposure to moderate noise levels, varying temperatures, and confined spaces.

Occasional physical activity is required, including installing or troubleshooting hardware, managing cabling, and moving or lifting equipment. The position may require responding to system issues outside of normal business hours, including evenings or weekends, to ensure system availability and business continuity.

This role requires regular interaction with employees across the organization and may involve collaboration with external vendors or service providers. The environment is typically fast-paced and may involve managing multiple priorities and responding to urgent technical issues.

Employment Schedule

Workschedules at DBH are established to meet the needs of our clients and the agency. Program Supervisors, with the approval of Program Directors, determine the specific schedules for their assigned departments and have the authority to ask employees to work a different shift and/or in a different location on a short-term or permanent basis to meet the departments' needs.

Full-time employees are required to work 40 hours per week. Part-time employees must work less than 30 hours per week.
