Job summary

RiseMe is seeking an IT Support Technician to provide frontline technical help for hardware, software, and basic network issues. You will configure workstations, maintain equipment, and assist with user accounts from Lynchburg, VA on-site.

This entry-level role emphasizes customer-focused support, solid communication, and a willingness to learn in a small but growing IT environment. On-site presence in Lynchburg is required.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of computer systems and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Windows and/or macOS operating systems.
• Experience with common software applications (Office, browsers, email).

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and basic network issues.
• Set up, configure, and maintain workstations, printers, and other IT equipment.
• Assist with user account management, including password resets and access permissions.
• Document support requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in a ticketing system.
• Maintain an organized inventory of IT assets, equipment, and supplies.
• Escalate complex or unresolved issues to the IT manager when appropriate.
• Assist with routine system maintenance, including software updates and backups.
• Troubleshoot basic hardware, peripheral, and connectivity issues.
• Provide support with a professional, customer-focused approach.
• Perform other duties as assigned

About the role

As an IT Support Technician, you will provide essential day-to-day technical support to ensure smooth and uninterrupted business operations. You will serve as a first point of contact for technology-related issues, helping team members resolve problems efficiently while maintaining a high level of professionalism and service. This role is ideal for an entry-level candidate who is tech-savvy, detail-oriented, and eager to learn. You will play a key role in maintaining systems, supporting users, and contributing to a reliable and secure IT environment.

What you'll do

• Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and basic network issues

Minimum Skills & Requirements

• Basic knowledge of computer systems and troubleshooting
• Some familiarity with Windows and/or macOS operating systems
• Experience with common software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, web browsers, email clients)
• Strong communication skills and ability to assist users with varying levels of technical knowledge
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Reliable transportation and ability to work on-site in Lynchburg, VA
• Previous experience in IT support, help desk, or a similar role (preferred)
• Experience working with ticketing systems (preferred)
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (preferred)
