Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking an entry-level IT support contractor to assist with customer and technology support duties in Ames, IA. You will respond to requests, provide instructions for applications and equipment, and offer support across email, phone, remote, and in-person channels.

The role covers desktop support, imaging, and Office 365 tasks within a fully onsite environment. Training will be provided, and opportunities exist for growth with TEKsystems and its clients.

Qualifications

• Desktop, Support, Troubleshooting, and Customer Service are core capabilities.
• Experience with an enterprise ticketing system (Service Now) is beneficial.
• Entry-level role with training provided and potential for growth.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve customer requests by using ISU's ticketing system.
• Provide information and instructions for applications and equipment.
• Offer support via email, phone, remote, and in-person appointments.
• Identify technical needs and propose resolution paths.
• Schedule and coordinate installations and appointments.
• Maintain and manage inventories and procedures.

Customer Support

• Respond to and resolve customer requests and inquiries by tracking them in ISU's ticket management system
• Provide information and instructions to users on various applications and equipment
• Provide direct support via email, phone, remote, and in-person appointments
• Identify technical needs of customers and find resolutions to address business needs
• Percent of total time: 25

Technology Support

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot computer equipment and software
• Performs routine backup and restores system and data files
• Ensure devices are setup in a standard, secure, and consistent manner
• Percent of total time: 25

Operations Support

• Schedule customer installations and appointments
• Ensure policies and standards are met and procedures are followed by staff
• Maintain/manage ITS and CorePlus customer inventories
• Triage incidents and requests, ensuring that students and FTEs are completing them in a timely manner
• Percent of total time: 25

Administration

• Attend team, departmental, and campus meetings
• Provide guidance to student employees, including scheduling, training, and performance feedback
• Document procedures, checklists, and other information required by the team
• Provide backup support for purchasing CorePlus and Onsite requested IT equipment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
