The Felician Sisters of North America is hiring a full-time IT Support Specialist /Maintenance Assistant for the Maryville Retreat Center. This onsite position serves as a dual role (working both IT and Maintenance) that assists with basic to intermediate IT needs PLUS general facility maintenance responsibilities.

General Summary

The IT Support Specialist /Maintenance Assistant is responsible for maintaining computer desktop environments by analyzing requirements, resolving problems, and installing hardware and software solutions at the Maryville Retreat Center. This position will provide technical support to guests and staff at Maryville Retreat Center by researching and answering questions, troubleshooting problems, and maintaining technological hardware.

This position will perform a full range of duties including floor care and general maintenance responsibilities. Duties include drywall repair, painting, repairs, preventive maintenance, and upkeep of all interior and exterior areas of the property. As with all positions at the Maryville Retreat Center, when necessary, this position contributes to maintaining a clean and sanitary environment in all areas including bathrooms, bedrooms, conference areas, dining room, and dish room.

Responsibilities

Information Technology (IT)

  • Provides first-level support and resolves problems to the end user satisfaction.
  • Modifies and repairs configurations, utilities, and software default settings for the local workstations.
  • Installs, configures, and troubleshoots workstations, peripheral equipment, and software.
  • Maintains inventory of all equipment, users, and software.
  • Performs timely workstation hardware and software upgrades as required.
  • Supports Maryville Retreat Center guests with technology needs.
  • Escalates troubleshooting/support if necessary to Provincial IT Department.
  • Participates in an on-call rotation

Maintenance

  • Removes garbage and trash from buildings and grounds.
  • Sets up and removes tables for meetings and other activities. Moves heavy furniture and equipment.
  • Loads and unloads supplies.
  • Cleans and maintains equipment and tools.
  • Performs routine painting and maintenance tasks as assigned, within the scope of the abilities.
  • Mows lawn, trims shrubbery, and cultivates flowers using hand tools and lawn equipment.
  • Makes rounds of the building(s) and grounds at regular intervals. Inspects doors, windows, and locks.
  • Assists in overall security efforts on the property.
  • Observes the appearance and condition of property and equipment; reports safety hazards or conditions requiring maintenance services.
  • Cleans floors and carpets on a routine basis to include vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, sanitizing, and waxing.
  • Maintains and cleans restrooms and kitchens in a sanitary manner.
  • Attends and participates in meetings, committees, seminars, conferences, and in-service training programs as directed.
  • Participates in an on-call rotation.
