CFD Research Corporation in Dayton/Beavercreek, OH is seeking a capable IT Support professional to provide courteous user assistance and manage computing resources. The role emphasizes on-site operations, resource setup, and mentoring team members to ensure efficient service delivery.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years in PC support or help desk, with strong Windows/Hypers-V/Microsoft 365 and AD knowledge, plus basic Linux skills.

Qualifications

• Candidate must be a US Citizen and eligible for security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree required with 5+ years in PC Support/Help Desk.
• Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Hyper-V, Microsoft 365, AD, networking, and basic Linux.
• Ability to deliver courteous, professional user support and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous and professional support to users and internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate setup of computing resources and installation of required software.
• Mentor other team members as needed.
• Respond promptly to internal user requests for support/troubleshooting while following procedures.
• Maintain smooth operation of multi-user/multi-platform computer systems (desktops and servers).
• Monitor and manage system resources (CPU, disk, response times).

Job Description

• Provide courteous and professional support to users and internal stakeholders
• Coordinate setting up of computing resources and installation of required software
• Mentor other members of the team as needed
• Efficient timely, and effective response to internal user requests for support/troubleshooting while adhering to internal operating procedures
• Maintain smooth operation of multi-user/multi-platform computer systems for desktops and server environment
• Monitor and manage system resources, (e.g. CPU usage, disk usage, and response times)

Basic Qualifications

• Candidate must be a US Citizen
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance
• Position requires at least a Bachelors degree and 5 years of experience (or 7 years of experience in lieu of a degree) in PC Support and/or Help Desk environment
• Knowledge of Window operating systems, Hyper-V, Microsoft 365 Suite, Window Domain architecture, Information Technology, Firewalls, and effective knowledge of both wired and wireless Local Area Network technologies.
• Linux Administration:
• Basic Knowledge of SSH and Remote server administration
• Experience with common Linux commands
• Perform routine administration, monitoring, patching, user management, and basic troubleshooting.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience in implementation and maintenance of CMMC guidelines strongly preferred
• Experience with basic support of Linux in a production environment a plus
• Experience in a small business environment is a plus
