Job summary

Responsibilities

IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST

Department: Finance and Administration

Job Summary

One More Child is seeking an IT Support Specialist to provide responsive, hands‑on technology support to staff and ensure employees have the devices, applications, access, and technical assistance needed to effectively perform their work. The Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for internal IT support and works under the direction of the Director of IT & Business Systems.

The Specialist is responsible for endpoint deployment and lifecycle management, mobile device support, technology inventory, user onboarding and offboarding, building access support, and resolution of technology support tickets not handled by the Managed Service Provider (MSP). The Specialist works with the Director, MSP, and software vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues, elevate complex problems, and provide timely, professional customer service.

The Specialist also supports user training and documentation for commonly used technology systems and applications, helping staff effectively use organizational technology.

Essential Duties And Functions
  • Serve as the first point of contact for internal technology support requests, troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, device, peripheral, and application issues with timely and professional follow‑up.
  • Manage and resolve support tickets not handled by the MSP, escalating complex or unresolved issues to the Director or appropriate resource.
  • Provide user support for commonly used applications, including Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, RingCentral, Asana, Zoom, and other organizational systems.
  • Maintain support documentation and provide individual or group training to help staff effectively use organizational technology.
  • Employee Onboarding, Offboarding & Asset Management
  • Coordinate technology onboarding and offboarding with Human Resources, hiring managers, the Director, and the MSP, including account access, devices, applications, and equipment recovery.
  • Configure, deploy, maintain, and recover Windows and Apple computers, laptops, tablets, smartphones, peripherals, and other endpoint devices.
  • Support device enrollment and management through Microsoft Intune, Jamf, Mosyle, or other approved device management platforms.
  • Maintain accurate technology asset, equipment assignment, warranty, and lifecycle records, including coordinating repairs, replacements, and equipment disposition.
  • Track software and application licenses, coordinate user assignments, and conduct monthly user license audits to identify unused or inappropriate licenses.
  • Building Access & Physical Technology
  • Administer employee building access credentials and badge issuance and assist with support of access control, security cameras, conference room technology, and other workplace technology.
  • Security & Compliance Support
  • Follow established IT security, access, device management, and data protection policies; report suspected security incidents, phishing, or other concerns to the Director.
  • Assist with technology‑related compliance activities, including HIPAA requirements, access reviews, and required documentation.
  • Maintain accurate technology documentation, user guides, and equipment records to support consistent and efficient IT operations.
  • Provide technology support at other organizational campuses as needed and assist the Director with technology deployments, upgrades, and other assigned activities.
  • Travel to other campuses as needed for technology‑related needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience And Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience providing end‑user technical support in Microsoft Windows, Apple (macOS/iOS), and Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Experience deploying and supporting Windows and Apple endpoint devices, mobile devices, Microsoft 365, and enterprise applications.
  • Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM), technology asset inventory, software licensing, and user account administration.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Strong customer service skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to train users of varying technical abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Experience And Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Intune, SharePoint, RingCentral, Salesforce, or other enterprise business applications.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Apple Device Support, Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (MS‑900), Microsoft Endpoint Administrator (MD‑102), or ITIL Foundation.

This job requires the ability to work in stressful conditions from time to time and remain focused for extended periods of time. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds (boxes, documents, and/or equipment) may be required on occasion.

Work Environment

Job functions are performed in both normal office environments.
