Evapco, Inc. in California is seeking a Desktop Support Specialist responsible for diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues across onsite systems and networks.

The role emphasizes hands-on support for Windows OS, active directory accounts, VPN access, and basic network cabling; strong communication skills and bilingual English/Spanish are preferred. This position is on-site with standard weekday hours and potential overtime.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Computer hardware, Windows OS, and software knowledge required.
• Two years IT experience preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance for computer systems, software and hardware.
• Record and document Help Desk requests in person or remotely.
• Support remote access and VPN software.
• Rebuild PCs with imaging and Windows configuration.
• Install and maintain peripheral devices in office and shop floor.
• Manage licensing and asset tracking.
• Provide VoIP support and admin tasks.
• Assist IT management and maintenance with projects.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Position Reports To: Facility Manager

Job Summary

A desktop support specialist is responsible for diagnosing and fixing technical issues with hardware or software systems.

Knowledge, Skills, & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent, is required
• College degree, in a relatable field of study, is preferred
• Strong knowledge and experience with Domains, PC hardware, Operating Systems, and Software Technology
• Working knowledge of MS Office 2007 or higher
• Excellent verbal/written communication, multi-tasking, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• 2 years or more of IT related experience preferred
• Bilingual (English/Spanish), is preferred

Essential Functions

• Provide Technical Assistance and Support for issues related to Computer Systems, Software, and Hardware
• Record, track, and Document Help Desk requests and service calls in a timely manner in person or remotely
• Support and Troubleshoot Remote Access and Client VPN software
• Provide PC support and troubleshooting for in-house applications and Workflows
• Rebuild PCs; Imaging, Installing, and configuring Windows Operating system and client-side applications
• Install, configure, and maintain common Peripheral Devices in an Office and Shop Floor Environment
• Install and Troubleshoot Networking and Ethernet Cabling
• Manage Software and Hardware Licensing and Asset Tracking
• Manage CMMS software and database
• Assist with creating purchase orders and managing all hardware/software components
• Provide VoIP phone support and administration including system adds, changes, and moves
• Maintain desktop backup and recovery software for client workstations
• Support Mobile devices and e-mail configuration
• Support User/Computer accounts in Active Directory
• Perform post-resolution follow-ups and documentation
• Assist IT Management and Network Engineers with IT related projects
• Assist Maintenance department on various projects/tasks when needed
• May perform other duties as assigned

Typical Working Conditions

• Industrial setting (i.e. factory, outdoor)
• Temperature Extremes, in general, from 20° F. to 110° F.
• Requires very good agility (i.e. bending, standing, walking, climbing, reaching, squatting, twisting, and lifting)
• Normal work week Monday through Friday, Saturday work likely, some Sunday work
• 100% on-site (Monday through Friday, [Hours, e.g., 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM]).
