Job description

IT Support Analyst I

Calling All Tech-Wielding Padawans, Hobbits of Helpdesk, and Guardians of the LAN! Lyon College is seeking a Support Analyst I—an entry-level champion who will brave the binary, wrangle rogue printers, and rescue distressed users from the dark abyss of “my email won’t load.” If your idea of a good time includes configuring hardware, deciphering error logs like ancient runes, and muttering incantations over DNS settings, we want to talk to you. Whether you're Team Windows, House macOS, or a neutral Switzerland of both, your quest will include ensuring that technology runs smoother than a dragon's hoard sorted alphabetically.

Your Epic Quest Includes: battling gremlins in the network layer (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), crafting user-friendly training for the less technically inclined villagers, and defending the college's digital kingdom from the forces of entropy and cyber peril. If you come with at least 1-3 years of IT support experience, wield a troubleshooting sword with precision, and possess the wisdom to explain tech in plain tongue, then saddle up! Experience in educational realms and remote support tools earns you bonus XP. Apply now and let your journey to IT greatness begin at Lyon College—where the helpdesk is strong and the coffee is plentiful.

About the Role: The Support Analyst I is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Associate Director of IT Services. Responsibilities include providing first-level technical support for hardware, software, and network issues; documenting support processes; assisting in system installations and configurations; and contributing to IT security and disaster recovery efforts. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma (bachelor’s preferred), 1–3 years of experience in IT support, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and a commitment to excellent customer service. Familiarity with both Windows and macOS, remote support tools, and basic network administration is essential.
