Job summary

Sentara in Norfolk, VA is seeking an experienced Epic Willow Application Support specialist to ensure day-to-day support, optimization, and compliant medication workflows across Willow Inpatient and Ambulatory systems.

You will collaborate with pharmacy leadership, clinicians, and IT teams to analyze workflows, plan enhancements, and support safe, efficient medication management. Experience with testing, upgrades, incident management, and change control is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, Pharmacy or related field.
  • Epic Willow Inpatient and/or Willow Ambulatory Certification required.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant application support or Epic experience; 5 years may substitute for Bachelor's.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support, optimization, maintenance, and enhancement of Epic Willow applications.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists, clinicians, operational stakeholders, and IT teams to analyze workflows and implement system improvements.
  • Perform testing, upgrades, change management, incident resolution, and system optimization for Willow applications.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for Epic Willow Willow Inpatient and Ambulatory applications.

Collaborates with pharmacy leadership, clinicians, operational stakeholders, and IT teams to analyze workflows, implement system improvements, and support safe, efficient medication management processes. Evaluates software releases, upgrades, and new functionality to optimize clinical and business outcomes while ensuring regulatory compliance and patient safety. Performs workflow assessments, gathers functional requirements, develops testing plans, and supports implementation of system enhancements. Provides application support, incident resolution, change management, and project coordination while serving as a subject matter expert for Epic Willow applications.EducationBachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, Pharmacy, Clinical Discipline, or related field (Required)Experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's DegreeCertification/LicensureEpic Willow Inpatient and/or Epic Willow Ambulatory Certification (Required)ExperienceMinimum of 3 years of relevant application support, clinical informatics, healthcare IT, or Epic experience with a Bachelor's DegreeMinimum of 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelor's DegreeExperience supporting Epic Willow Inpatient and/or Willow Ambulatory applications in a healthcare environmentExperience analyzing pharmacy workflows and translating business and clinical requirements into system solutionsExperience with application testing, upgrades, change management, incident management, and system optimizationExperience collaborating with cross-functional teams, pharmacists, providers, nursing staff, and operational leaders on application enhancements and implementationsWe provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $89,294.40 - $131,851.20 annually. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs. Note: If an annual salary is posted, it is based on a full-time colleague working 2,080 hours annually.
