Job summary

You will troubleshoot hardware and software, manage Windows servers, respond to tickets, and develop SOPs. The ideal candidate works independently or in a team, with attention to detail and confidentiality,

Qualifications

• Provide Tier I and Tier II desktop support to Department of Commerce users.

• Configure and administer Active Directory accounts.
• Develop SOPs and Knowledge Articles for IT processes.
• Handle ticketing and queue management and provide remote assistance.

ActioNet has an opening for an IT Specialist / System Administrator requiring a Public Trust clearance located in Silver Spring, MD, This is a Hybrid position (2-3 days onsite). In this role, you will be responsible for providing IT support to Department of Commerce desktop users, and for supporting, maintaining, and updating IT systems that are used in the workplace, on research vessels, and on research aircraft.

Salary: 58,000-129,000 Theideal candidate will be a proactive team player who can work both independently and within a team environment. Possess the ability to work in a challenging environment producing positive results thatdemonstrates a high degree of attention to quality, detail, correctness and deadlines in amulti-tasking, priority changing environment. Must be able to work with a variety of people and departments and maintain confidentiality. Must be available to work and provide help desk support after normal business hours.

Duties and Responsibilities

Basic Qualifications

• Possess Tier I support monitoring and managing ticket queue
• Possess Tier 2 user desktop support either remotely or onsite
• Mid-level experience with both MS Windows workstation and server operating system
• installation and administration
• Mid-level experience with Active Directory configuration and administration
• Mid-level experience building and maintaining Windows workstation and server install
• images
• Mid-level experience with Windows installation using Windows Deployment Services
• Mid-level experience with preparation of and troubleshooting computer hardware and
• software
• Experience with the use of Remote tools

Preferred

• Microsoft Certification
• HDI Certification
• Mid-level understanding of networking and networking principals
