Major Duties

This position is responsible for conceptual development and improvement of Web-based logistics information dissemination systems as well as evaluation of existing DoD logistics information dissemination systems and procedures.

  • Conducts periodic process/product quality assurance assessments/reviews in accordance with the DLIS/DLA policy and the Internet and Web Development Oversight One Book Chapter to ensure that all websites are in compliance.
  • Incumbent operates as an independent developer of web architectures, databases, and systems applications.
  • Responsibilities include requirements analysis, planning, organizing, directing, coordinating projects, coordinating efforts with outside agencies, and evaluating technical developments.
Qualification Summary

To qualify for an IT Specialist (INET), your resume and supporting documentation must support: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position.

Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Creditable specialized experience includes: Developing and implementing approved plans, objectives, policies, procedures, and guidance required to ensure the Agency's websites are in compliance with those of DoD and DLA.

  • Establishing criteria, formulating projects, and investigating and analyzing a variety of IT program issues.
  • Reviews code, tests, debugs, and runs the computer software developed in response to user requests.
  • Incumbent must often oversee modifications to the code based on additional user requirements and must also be aware of alternative approaches to problem resolution.
  • Designs, develops, and modifies applications software using Java, and ASP.NET utilizing C#.
  • Analyzes and refines system requirements and designs and plans systems architecture.
  • Writes, debugs, and maintains code.

For all positions, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving.
