Job summary

Atlas Energy Solutions Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking an IT SOX Manager to lead and strengthen our ITSOX program, partnering with IT, Accounting, Internal Audit and external auditors to ensure effective internal controls over financial reporting.

You will drive scoping, testing, evidence collection, remediation, and documentation, while mentoring control owners and advancing the maturity of the IT controls environment.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of SOX, ITGCs, and COSO framework.
• Understanding of how IT controls support ICFR.
• Experience with IT environments, including applications and databases.
• SDLC controls related to development, testing, change management, and implementation.
• Excellent communication and ability to work across IT, Accounting, Audit.
• 4–7 years in IT audit/compliance or related field; public company SOX preferred.
• Hands-on experience supporting SOX ITGC testing and IT audits.
• 3–5 years of end-to-end audit experience (planning to follow-up).
• Experience with SDLC controls and remediation efforts.
• Experience collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the IT SOX program including scoping, planning, walkthroughs, testing, and reporting.
• Assess design and operating effectiveness of IT General Controls and application controls.
• Conduct end-to-end IT audit activities: risk assessment, control testing, issue identification, remediation.
• Maintain SOX documentation: control matrices, narratives, flowcharts, testing workpapers.
• Partner with IT control owners to collect evidence and address questions.
• Identify control gaps and recommend improvements to strengthen IT controls.
• Track remediation activities with control owners and document results.
• Support Internal Audit and external auditors with requests and walkthroughs.
• Prepare SOX status reports and dashboards for IT leadership.
• Develop training/guidance on SOX responsibilities and control requirements.
