Job summary

Verizon is seeking a Principal IT SOX Lead to oversee the IT SOX compliance lifecycle across Verizon IT applications. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting, or a related technical field or four or more years of work experience.
• Six years of progressive experience in IT compliance, IT internal/external audit, or technical systems engineering (military equivalent experience accepted).
• Hands‑on understanding of CI/CD pipelines, software development lifecycles (SDLC), database architecture, and cloud/infrastructure security.
• Advanced knowledge of SOX audit frameworks, US GAAP/SOX requirements, and ITGC evaluation techniques.
• Executive storytelling: translating raw audit data and technical risks into clear business insights for the C-suite.

Responsibilities

• SOX Program Ownership: Architect and execute the IT General Controls roadmap for financial reporting systems across planning, testing, evidence collection, and final certification.
• Control Automation: Design and implement automated control validation mechanisms to eliminate manual processes, reduce human error, and scale compliance efforts.
• Audit Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Lead liaison for CIO, Internal Audit, Finance, and external auditors to streamline testing and governance.
• Technical Remediation: Partner with system owners to evaluate deficiencies and design automated remediation plans.
• Agile Project Management: Direct cross-functional compliance initiatives, tracking deliverables, resources, and risks.
• Executive Reporting: Translate complex audit findings and risk metrics into actionable briefings for executives.
