IT Sourcing & Purchasing Consultant | Location: Springfield, MA | Contract | Hourly Pay Range: $30-$35

Our client in the Springfield, MA area is seeking an experienced IT Sourcing & Purchasing Consultant to support their strategic procurement initiatives. This role involves managing IT sourcing activities, supplier relationships, and contract negotiations within a hybrid work environment, focusing on optimizing costs and procurement processes across various technology categories.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute procurement strategies for IT spend, including software, SaaS, hardware, cloud services, telecommunications, and professional services.
• Facilitate RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, and supplier evaluations to identify the best sourcing options.
• Negotiate pricing, contract terms, statements of work, and renewals to maximize value and cost savings.
• Consolidate suppliers and contracts to increase purchasing volume and improve pricing terms.
• Conduct spend analysis, market research, and supplier benchmarking to develop effective sourcing strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Support supplier performance management and foster strong supplier relationships.
• Create, review, and process purchase requisitions and purchase orders in compliance with company policies.
• Manage contract amendments, change orders, and closeouts, ensuring timely follow-up and accuracy of procurement records.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Legal, Finance, and suppliers to resolve procurement and invoicing issues.
• Support procurement reporting, spend analysis, and supplier performance metrics.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of procurement, purchasing, and strategic sourcing experience, particularly with technology products and services such as software, SaaS, hardware, cloud, and professional services.
• Proven negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships to secure favorable terms and cost savings.
• Demonstrated ability to review, negotiate, and manage contracts, renewals, and amendments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across IT and business units.
• Proficiency with ERP and procurement systems, Microsoft Excel, and other Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of software licensing models, SaaS agreements, and cloud services.
• Experience supporting procurement transformation or centralization initiatives.
• Familiarity with supplier relationship management and procurement best practices.
