Job description

The IT & Security Specialist independently owns defined corporate IT and security responsibilities end-to-end, including routine work that is not fully documented. Requires direction on priorities rather than method and develops strong working knowledge of the Knowmadics environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports hardware, software, accounts, access, and corporate IT systems.
  • Runs onboarding and offboarding end-to-end for assigned employees, including access, asset, and compliance steps.
  • Follows established security, compliance, and IT procedures and raises suspected risks or policy gaps.
  • Writes and corrects documentation and runbooks used by the team.
  • Escalates complex issues with a diagnosis and recommended course of action, not only a description of the symptom.
  • Identifies recurring issues and recommends practical process improvements.
  • Applies working knowledge of FedRAMP and CMMC requirements to day-to-day IT & Security operations, including identity and access, endpoint configuration, documentation, and handling of compliance-sensitive systems and data.
  • Executes established procedures correctly and adapts when documentation is incomplete.
  • Troubleshoots defined problems independently.
  • Communicates clearly with users and teammates and documents work consistently.
  • Makes sound decisions within defined priorities.
  • Shares knowledge informally and contributes to team standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems management, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Knowledge of IT and cloud infrastructure design, security principles, and traditional/modern environments.
  • Familiarity with network, endpoint, application, and mobile device security concepts.
  • Understanding of operating systems, infrastructure, and cloud computing.
  • Awareness of information security laws and regulations.
  • Basic knowledge of threat actors, exploitation tactics, and defensive tools.
  • Experience using Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) platforms or similar tools.
  • Self-motivated and able to work in an independent manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration.
  • Certification: CompTIA Security+ or equivalent (required).

Working conditions
  • Employees may be called upon to participate in in-person meetings, trainings, or company functions at Knowmadics offices or other designated locations. Travel in support of business operations may also be required, and employees are expected to comply with these obligations as part of their position.
  • Candidate should live within driving distance of the following areas: Wichita, KS; Lawton, OK; or Round Rock, TX.
