Transcard, a Chattanooga-based payments company, is offering an IT Security internship designed to give hands-on exposure to SIEM, DLP, AV, FW, and DAST/SAST tools while aligning with academic coursework.

You'll begin with mentorship from the CISO and IS Manager, perform security event logging tasks, and participate in security architecture meetings. This paid internship requires US residency and onsite presence with possible remote options for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or completed Bachelor’s in Information Security or IT.
• Strong interest in security internships and professional growth.
• Familiarity with vulnerability scanners is preferred.
• Willingness to work independently with supervision.

Responsibilities

• Interview InfoSec and IT engineers to catalog security log sources.
• Collaborate to ensure all log sources report to the SIEM.
• Analyze SIEM alerts and draft improvement recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with auditing frameworks.
• Set up daily reports with aggregated security events.
• Participate in daily security event log reviews.
• Correlate changes to tickets or communications.
• Identify nefarious activity and suggest remediation.
• Perform vulnerability scans and track remediation per SLAs.
