Job summary

Encode, Inc., a fully owned subsidiary of Lancesoft, in Herndon, VA, is seeking a Security Analyst for a 12-month contract with possible extension. You will monitor, analyze, escalate, and respond to security threats affecting safety-critical air traffic control systems.

The ideal candidate has theoretical SOC knowledge, strong communication skills, and the ability to work onsite Monday through Friday. FAA Public Trust clearance is required or achievable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 4 years of relevant experience or an Associate's degree with 0–2 years of related experience.
• Self-starter with curiosity and initiative.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work onsite daily (Mon-Fri).

Responsibilities

• Analyze and administer security controls for information systems.
• Safeguard the network against unauthorized access, modification, destruction or disclosure.
• Research, evaluate, test, and implement new security software or devices.
• Develop and enforce security policies for data, software, hardware, and telecommunications.
• Manage company firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
• Provide management with information on negative business impact from security incidents.
• Operate under general direction within standard processes for non-routine tasks.
• Communicate with team to explain and interpret information.
• Contribute to changes in workflows to achieve targets.
• Ability to obtain FAA Public Trust clearance.

Client is seeking an enthusiastic and fast learners with a keen eye for detail to join us in monitoring, analyzing, escalating, and responding to security threats for our safety-critical air traffic control system. The ideal candidate will possess theoretical knowledge of SOC operations, standard tools, and best practices. If you work effectively under general direction, communicate well within and beyond your immediate team, engage with various levels of leadership, and are dedicated to explaining, interpreting information, and improving processes and systems to achieve operational objectives, this is a great role for you.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for analyzing and/or administering security controls for information systems.
• Safeguards the network against unauthorized infiltration, modification, destruction or disclosure.
• Research, evaluate, test, recommend, communicate and implement new security software or devices.
• Implements, enforces, communicates and develops security policies or plans for data, software applications, hardware, and telecommunications.
• Manages the company's firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
• Provides information to management regarding the negative impact on the business caused by theft, destruction, alteration or denial of access to information.
• Entry-level professional with broad theoretical job knowledge.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
