Job summary

Cimarron Inc. seeks an IT Scrum Master to support the MDA on the IRES contract at Schriever Space Force Base, CO. You will partner with the RTE to mature SAFe practices and coach IT teams across hybrid environments.

Qualifications

• This role requires US citizenship and a current Active Secret Clearance.
• 4+ years of general work experience and 2+ years as Scrum Master/Agile Coach.
• Experience applying Agile methodologies to IT operations.

Responsibilities

• Partner with RTE to align Scrum Master with SAFe frameworks and ARTs.
• Design and train IT team on Agile processes for structured delivery.
• Foster a cohesive, hybrid ‘one-team’ dynamic across HSV and COS locations.
• Facilitate an optimized Agile cadence tailored to IT/infra delivery cycles.
• Coach team and organization on Scrum practices to deliver IT solutions.
• Assist Product Owner with backlog, user stories, and prioritization.
• Ensure planning data is in the system of record for reporting.
• Deliver weekly metrics to the RTE.
• Identify and resolve impediments and blockers.
• Manage capacity, velocity, and burn-down charts.
• Coordinate cross-team dependencies during upgrades.
• Integrate IT service delivery and cybersecurity tasks into Agile.
• Foster continuous improvement and accountability.

Position Introduction/Key Duties

Cimarron is seeking an IT Scrum Master to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at the Schriever Space Force Base in the Colorado Springs area.

Key Duties

• Partner directly with the RTE to define, mature, and align the Scrum Master role with program-level SAFe frameworks and Agile release trains.
• Collaborate with the RTE to design, implement, and train the IT team on customized Agile processes, helping technical staff smoothly transition to a structured Agile delivery model.
• Establish a cohesive "one-team" dynamic across geographically split locations (HSV and COS) by leveraging virtual collaboration tools and maintaining an inclusive hybrid engagement model.
• Facilitate an optimized Agile battle rhythm tailored to the unique operational needs and delivery cycles of the IT and infrastructure teams.
• Guide and coach the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices to deliver high-quality IT solutions.
• Assist the Product Owner and Technical Leads with backlog maintenance, prioritizing IT initiatives, and translating technical requirements into actionable user stories.
• Assist the team by making sure all data for planning is documented into the system of record for accurate reporting and metrics development.
• Deliver metrics to the RTE on a reoccurring (weekly) basis.
• Identify, track, and actively resolve impediments or blockers that hinder the team’s ability to meet Sprint goals.
• Manage and track team capacity, sprint velocity, and burn-down charts using Agile lifecycle management tools.
• Facilitate cross-team coordination, and dependency management, especially when rolling out complex enterprise system upgrades or resolving break/fix activities.
• Ensure that IT service delivery and cybersecurity compliance tasks are properly integrated into the Agile workflow.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability within the team.

Required/Desired Skills, Experience, And Education

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

• Active Secret Clearance.
• 4 or more years of general work experience.
• 2 or more years of directly related experience acting as a Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or Project Manager.
• Current Agile certification (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM I), or SAFe Scrum Master (SSM)).
• Experience using Agile management and collaboration tools (such as Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps) to facilitate remote and hybrid teams.
• Experience applying Agile methodologies to IT operations.

Desired Skills, Experience, And Education

• Active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum practices within a technical team, ideally under the guidance of an RTE or Agile Coach.
• Experience working within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), particularly in a DoD or government contracting environment.
• Technical background or previous experience in System Administration, Network Engineering, or IT Service Management.
• Experience integrating ITIL methodologies (Change, Incident, Problem management) with Agile processes.
• Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE)
• Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity processes, such as RMF, Secure Host Baselines, and DISA STIGs.
• Advanced Agile certifications (e.g., A-CSM, PSM II, PMI-ACP, or SAFe Release Train Engineer)
