JOB SUMMARY

The IT Projects and Solutions Manager is responsible for leading the IT team’s work on projects, both those initiated by IT and those initiated by TPCC ministries.

This individual will act as the primary connection between the IT team and ministry teams in the discovery, definition, and execution of projects and project-related IT requirements.

The IT Projects and Solutions Manager is responsible for leading the IT Products Specialist in the IT team’s efforts related to increasing awareness, working knowledge, and adoption of available IT solutions by staff and volunteers, and maximizing ministry outcomes by guiding and counseling ministries.

This individual will lead IT team efforts to identify where and how technical solutions are best applied, lead research regarding needed solutions and services, and orchestrate the delivery of those solutions.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is directly responsible for managing the IT Solutions Specialist.

DUTIES / PRIMARY JOB PRODUCTS

Focus on people and outcomes through the best uses of technology.

TEAM MANAGEMENT FUNCTION

Direct the work of the IT Products Specialist.

Partner with the IT Applications Manager, IT Systems Manager, and IT Director to lead the IT team.

Actively engage as a leader within the IT team.

Ensure focus and alignment of the IT team (especially the IT Products Specialist) with IT strategy.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT FUNCTION

Lead all efforts within the IT team to identify, define, and execute projects and deliverables.

Work with ministries and embedded IT team members to identify projects early to allow optimal planning and execution.

Partner with the IT Applications Manager and IT Systems Manager (and when needed the IT Director) to prioritize work items and communicate priorities, status, and progress to ministry personnel.

Facilitate definition of project tasks, timelines, and dependencies.

BUSINESS ANALYST FUNCTION

Author high quality work items for the Program Management team and Systems team to execute.

PRODUCT FUNCTION

Lead the IT Products Specialist to partner with the IT Applications Manager and IT Systems Manager to create processes that optimize the deployment and use of technology in ministry at TPCC.

Lead the IT Products Specialist and participate in meetings with ministry teams to clarify objectives and manage expectations regarding how technology will support ministry goals.

Partner with IT leadership to ensure alignment of products and solutions with strategy, needs, best practices, and budget.

INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS

This position reports directly to the IT Director.

Participate as a member of the IT staff and IT Lead Team, attending required meetings and special events.

Work closely with IT leadership to guide technology use in ministry.

Maintain strong, productive relationships with ministry teams and staff.

Maintain a strong working relationship with direct reports.

Hold regular one-on-one meetings with direct reports.

Maintain consistent engagement with ministry teams and users to understand and improve technology experience.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Undergraduate degree in a technical field and/or 2 or more years of direct experience in technology (e.g., business analyst, product owner).
