Location: Remote (PST hours)

Role & responsibilities:

Select Markets is a team that serves large government purchasers of health benefits in California. This team implements people, process, and system changes necessary to deliver a positive experience to all members. The Project Manager (Consultant) will report to a Principal Program Manager. In this role you will support business and technical teams. You will use the Agile and Waterfall methodologies, build project plans, document requirements/epics/stories, track progress, identify risks/issues, quickly remediate challenges, and remove barriers to project success. The successful candidate will quickly build effective partnerships and operate cross-functionally in support of Account Management and project activities.


Responsibilities:
  1. Manage medium to large sized projects (or multiple projects) spanning across business areas.
  2. Ensure strategic direction of projects is in line and designs strategies for alignment with Company and business unit goals and objectives.
  3. Determine key business and technical issues, develop effective action plans, and facilitate the implementation to successful conclusion.
  4. Manage the design, development, and/or implementation of new or enhanced systems projects or programs.
  5. Manage the scope, schedule, budget, and quality of the project.
  6. Deliver accurate and value-added deliverables timely and accurately.
  7. Effectively facilitate business and technical requirements/working sessions.
  8. Meticulously document discussions (notes), memorialize action items, disseminate project information, and track work to completion.
  9. Identify and track project risks, issues, and decisions.
  10. Learn and follow enterprise standards/processes to facilitate timely and accurate work completion.

Your Knowledge and Experience:
  1. Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  2. Requires at least 7 years of prior relevant experience.
  3. Must demonstrate effective interpersonal skills.
  4. Must have experience building relationships in a fast-paced and demanding environment while coordinating complex work across multiple teams is key.
  5. Requires the ability to successfully work in a team and independently with limited instruction and oversight.
  6. Prefer skills and experience using Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Jira. SharePoint site management and JIRA epic/story development experience a plus.
  7. Must possess a can-do attitude and a commitment to taking on work necessary to ensuring project success.
