Job summary

Matlen Silver is seeking an IT Project Manager in Berkeley Heights, NJ for a 12-month contract-to-hire engagement. The PM will manage multiple fintech implementations concurrently, drive SOW-based plans, and coordinate with vendors and client teams to ensure on-time delivery.

The role requires strong governance, stakeholder management, and SDLC experience, with a focus on payments. The team uses Confluence, SharePoint, Jira, and Fiserv 360 for delivery.

Qualifications

• Development background as PM (SDLC, application development) in fintech environments.

Responsibilities

• Interpret SOWs and translate into actionable project plans.
• Coordinate with vendors and client PMs to drive delivery.
• Lead weekly touchpoints, status reports, and change requests.
• Oversee 4–5 project components with cross-functional teams.
• Balance scope, schedule, and budget for successful implementations.

Job description

Position Title: IT Project Manager

Location: Berkeley Heights New Jersey 07922

Duration: 12 Months (Contract to Hire)/ No C2C

***Due to client requirements this role is only open to USC OR GC candidates***

Job Summary

• Typical day: they start a project once they have an SOW in place, get on a call with client and agree on a plan, configure account, setup API features, explain the use cases, hand over credentials of APIs to technical team, customer then starts integrating them
• 4 flavours of implementation
• Combination of working directly with the vendors (IT or ERP vendors) for the small-medium clients, or working with the client’s PM’s (for the larger clients)
• Technical PM: scopes everything, can handle multiple implementations at a time, overall the team may have around 25-30 implementations in flight, going through SOW and understanding it, putting a plan in place, setting up weekly touch points with counterparts, status reports, able to understand the CR (change request) and negotiate with the customer when needed
• Technical aspects: the PM needs to be able to understand the SOW and product to put together a plan, 4-5 components in a project, development project bg as a PM
• PM tools the team uses: Confluence, SharePoint, Jira, Fiserv 360

• Strong PM skills – governance, stakeholder management, status reports, etc.
• Cross-functional, collaborative, work with engineers to stakeholders, able to push these teams to deliver on the timelines
