Job summary

The Department of Economic Security (DES) in Arizona seeks a Deputy IT Administrator to bridge IT and business units, guiding major system changes and projects. The role leads staff, manages priorities, and ensures alignment with agency goals while supporting remote work options within Arizona.

Ideal candidates will have strong governance, policy and data analysis skills, plus experience with enterprise IT environments and DES applications.

Qualifications

Knowledge of federal, state and departmental laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Thorough working knowledge of infrastructure technologies and in-house developed applications.
Experience developing, organizing, and writing policies and procedures.
Broad leadership experience with a vision for managing a business program.
Experience with system design, analysis, and automated data processing.

Responsibilities

Adapt departmental plans to address resource and operational challenges; manage complex projects with design, development and testing of major systems changes.
Gather, research and analyze statistical data for complex reports or large projects; utilize databases to obtain data.
Provide leadership and training to staff; define schedules and priorities.
Manage staff, set priorities, and handle administrative issues as needed.
Collaborate with program staff; provide technical support and participate in testing and implementation of modifications.
