Job summary

Global Connections to Employment (GCE) seeks a Professional Development Trainer to deliver employment readiness training for abilIT program participants. You will follow established lesson plans and curriculum to provide engaging, effective instruction and support client progress.

In this role you’ll maintain high satisfaction with clients and referral partners, and represent GCE with professionalism and integrity while coordinating with program staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least two years of professional experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with the vocational implications of various disabling conditions.
  • Skilled in curriculum development and lesson planning.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and insurable driving record.

Overview

The Professional Development Trainer (PDT) is responsible for delivering employment readiness training and instruction to abilIT program participants. This role follows established lesson plans and utilizes an assigned curriculum to provide engaging, effective, and consistent instruction. The PDT is also responsible for maintaining high levels of satisfaction among clients and referral partners while representing GCE with professionalism and integrity.

Role Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, communications, marketing, education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in a related field.
  • May substitute equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with the vocational implications of various disabling conditions.
  • Skilled in curriculum development and lesson planning.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license in the state they reside, have a satisfactory driving record, and be insurable under corporate policy.
Physical Requirements:

May travel to and from various locations and buildings throughout the year and in various weather conditions. Most work will take place indoors. Will work with cleaning chemicals. Will be required to follow the Emergency Operations Work Assignment per customer requirements. Schedules are subject to change.

While performing this job's duties, the team member is regularly required to bend, crouch, walk, climb stairs and ladders, reach above head, and lift up to 40 pounds. Must be able to assist in lifting equipment and move furniture when necessary; will occasionally be required to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
