Job summary

HireTalent is seeking a Category Manager for IT/Engineering vendors in Dallas, TX. You will lead sourcing, market research for RFPs, vendor negotiations, and contract drafting with Legal, ensuring cost savings and compliant vendor management.

You will collaborate with executives and business leads to define requirements, monitor SLAs, and report spend with Finance. The role demands 6+ years in sourcing and a proven ability to manage multiple high-priority requests in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Six to ten years of sourcing and procurement experience.
• Experience with vendors including directors and C-suite.
• Healthcare/regulatory industry familiarity (HIPAA, NPI, compliance) preferred.

Job description

• Serve as Category Manager for IT/Engineering Vendors and potentially others
• Conduct market research in support of RFPs and participate in competitive bidding (RFx)
• Implement the review of cost saving opportunities with Executive Sponsors, Business Leads and Finance
• Complete contract negotiations (including contract drafting) with vendors and Legal
• Serve as first point of contact in the contract drafting process, in collaboration with Legal
• In collaboration with the business stakeholders, identify the business requirements to be included in contract documentation
• Facilitate escalation and dispute resolution activities with new and existing vendors (as necessary) and coordinate vendor IT integration and access deliverables
• Complete vendor terminations and assist with decommissioning efforts, as necessary
• Work with Business Leads to capture and review vendor SLAs
• Work directly with Business Leads on vendor SLA reporting and adherence; support any remediation efforts
• Develop and monitor spend reporting with Finance and Business Leads
• Support Executive Sponsor and Business Lead, as requested, on vendor communications including meetings, reports, QBR/MBR, etc.
• Assist in the development of P2P Policy CLM documentation and audits

Required education and experience

• 6+ Years Sourcing and Procurement Experience
• Demonstrated ability to build external relationships and hold stakeholders and partners accountable
• Demonstrated ability to generate cost savings and cost avoidance

Preferred education and experience

• Ability to understand, organize, communicate and present complex information in an easily understandable format tailored to a variety of audiences
• Adaptable and efficient in a constantly evolving environment
• Familiarity with and comfort of using procurement software (e.g. ZIP)

Must Have Skills

• 6-10 years of sourcing and procurement experience (software/SaaS category) flexible for less years of experience if excellent fit
• Experience interacting with directors, C-Suite, working with engineering/cybersecurity teams
• Industry: prefers healthcare background (familiar with HIPPA, NPI, compliance etc.) Can be from regulated industries, large enterprise (2,000+ employees) as well.
• Familiar with software contracts, renewals, extensions, pricing, terms, SLAs, working with Legal on contract terms (full vendor lifecycle)
• Platforms: procure to pay system experience (open to any source to pay technology)
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in SaaS, on-prem software, and familiarity with AWS, marketplace
• Experience managing a large software vendor portfolio
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities and high volume of requests
• Demonstrated cost savings and spend management
