Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University’s Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) seeks a highly motivated IT Platform Administrator to join Enterprise IT. This role provides systems administration, computing support, and specialized services to ensure security, compliance, functionality, and reliability of research and administrative systems.

You will manage identity and access, install and maintain servers (Windows and Red Hat Linux), monitor security and compliance, and contribute to infrastructure

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree is required with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Willingness to obtain DoD 8140/8570 certification within one year.

Responsibilities

• Administer identity and access management and ensure protection of research data.
• Install, configure, secure, and upgrade Windows and Red Hat Linux servers and associated infrastructure.
• Monitor security events, vulnerabilities, and compliance; investigate anomalies and coordinate response.
• Monitor system availability and performance; troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.
• Develop system architecture diagrams, baselines, procedures, and disaster recovery docs.
