Job summary

Wood is seeking an IT/OT Support Specialist to join our team at a client’s chemical plant location on a full-time, long-term basis. The role focuses on on-site IT/OT incident resolution, lifecycle support for SAFER/PAS, and end-user computing, with collaboration across IT Endpoint Engineering and Service Desk teams.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years IT experience in manufacturing, holds A+/CCNA, and demonstrates strong Windows, networking knowledge, and incident management.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a chemical manufacturing facility.
  • A+ certification or equivalent networking experience.
  • CCNA Cisco Certified Network Associate.
  • 5+ years of IT-industry experience, some of which in manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows platforms (Windows 10, Windows Server 2017/2019/2022).
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking concepts.
  • Mobile Device Management experience.
  • Hands-on knowledge of HP/Xerox/Zebra printers and copiers.
  • Project Coordination/Management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve IT incidents and fulfill service requests (phone, email, walk-up, portal) for end users.
  • Provide on-site support for PCN network and systems; patching, firewall admin/configuration.
  • Support SAFER and PAS lifecycle management on-site.
  • Provision and maintain end-user computing equipment (desktops, laptops, peripherals).
  • Provide on-site printer/network equipment maintenance.
  • Collaborate with IT Endpoint Engineering to pilot image deployments.
  • Communicate planned IT maintenance with Service Desk and stakeholders.
  • Escalate incidents to IT engineering/operations.
  • Maintain knowledge base of fixes and procedures.
  • Provide project support for Life-cycle Management projects.
  • Support for new technologies implementation projects.
  • Assist IT-OT procurement and goods receipt for IT/Manufacturing projects.
  • Assist IT Infrastructure and Operations teams.
  • Support Windows OS/Server administration, backup and restore.
  • Coordinate maintenance for Power, HVAC, Fiber, Copper cabling.
  • Assist ICSSecurity teams.
  • Coordinate IT-OT service for capital projects.
  • Prioritize IT/OT work with ICSSecurity and Manufacturing groups.
  • Support MOC process for Process Control System changes.

Responsibilities
  • Resolves IT incidents and fulfills service requests (phone, e-mail, walk-up, self-service portal) for end users
  • Responsible for providing on-site support for PCN network and systems; examples include patching systems which reside in PCN Services, 2.X Firewall administration and configuration
  • Responsible for providing on-site support for SAFER and PAS (Process Automation Systems) Life-cycle Management program
  • Provisions and maintains end-user computing equipment, such as desktop/laptop hardware, software, and peripherals in accordance with IT operations policy and procedures
  • Provisions and maintains network printers, conference room equipment, digital signs, TVs, and other miscellaneous equipment.
  • Works with IT Endpoint Engineering team and IT Service Desk to pilot changes to image deployments
  • Works with IT Service Desk and Site Business Stakeholders to communicate planned IT maintenance
  • Escalates incidents to the appropriate IT engineering and operations resources
  • Monitors open support requests for accuracy, urgency, and problem resolution
  • Creates and maintains document repository or knowledge base of fixes, installation procedures, technical tips, and IT support documents or procedures
  • Provides project support for Life-cycle Management projects
  • Provide project support for the implementation of new technologies
  • Provides project support for the procurement and goods receipt pertaining to IT and Manufacturing projects which require IT-OT integration
  • Assist IT Infrastructure and Operations teams
  • Support Microsoft Windows Operating System Software/Server Administration, Backup, and Recovery
  • Coordinate maintenance and change requests related to Power, HVAC, Fiber, and Copper cabling.
  • Assists IT Security engineering and operations teams
  • Support antivirus and WSUS patches, updates, and hotfixes on Windows computers and servers
  • Assist ICSSecurity Team, Infrastructure Engineers, and Operations to provide maintenance and support for the process control network environment
  • Coordinates IT-OT service and support on behalf of capital project teams
  • Work with ICSSecurity, Manufacturing Core Technology Groups, process control engineering, maintenance, instrumentation, and operations groups to establish priorities for IT/OT Support Specialist work
  • Work with and support the Manufacturing MOC process for the Process Control System changes and updates.
  • Work with IT and Security architects to review and facilitate updates to application architecture diagrams and network connection table documents pertaining to IT-OT application integration
