Job summary

BlueScope Buildings North America, Inc. is seeking a Regional System Support Specialist I to install, maintain and support all IS hardware and software within the region.

You will set priorities in the Service Pro system and coordinate with team members on resource allocation. The role requires a high school diploma with 5 years of relevant experience in desktop support, network administration, and hardware support; a CS degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 5 years of relevant work experience including desktop support, network administration, and computer hardware support.
• Undergraduate degree in computer science or related field preferred.
• Experience with PC and server management systems desired.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and support all IS hardware and software across the region.
• Set initial priority of requests in the Service Pro system and allocate resources.
• Load and maintain approved software onto PCs; place requisitions for new hardware/software.
• Participate in team selection, coordinate tasks and provide feedback.
• Contribute to team meetings and recommend improvements as needed.

The Infrastructure Services department provides the tools and automation to store, organize and manipulate data while making that data easily retrievable. Various hardware and software tools, along with support, combine to enable these functions in a cost-effective method that helps to increase efficiency and accuracy.

The Regional System Support Specialist l installs, maintains and supports all IS related hardware and software. The Specialist may also recommend solutions that span their specific locations. Set initial priority of requests in Service Pro system and assign appropriate resources Manage site assets, inventory, and systems Proactively monitor and maintain systems within area of responsibility to support business productivity Load and maintain authorized software onto PCs Place requisitions for new hardware and software once approved Participate in the selection of team members as directed by my manager Coordinate tasks with team members and give feedback in relation to those tasks Participate in and make recommendations during team meetings Collaborate with peers to understand and support new technologies deployed within the company

Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent 5 years of relevant work experience including desktop support, network administration, and computer hardware support Proficient with PC and server management systems

Preferred: Undergraduate degree in computer science or related field
