Job summary

CACI is seeking an IT Operations Specialist - Tier 3 to support the Defense Intelligence Agency's mission. You will be part of a 24/7 global operations team, handle advanced troubleshooting, patch management, and system monitoring across Windows, Linux, and storage platforms.

Role requires TS/SCI with poly, Security+ or higher, and 6+ years hands-on IT experience. Expect collaboration with engineering and government stakeholders, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a current Top Secret/SCI clearance with ability to obtain poly prior to start.
  • DOD 8140 Certification applicable to role (minimum Security+)
  • Academic credentials aligned to senior IT ops roles with extensive hands-on experience.
  • Vendor or OEM specific certifications are required.
  • Minimum of 6 years hands-on experience integrating, operating, and maintaining IT hardware and software solutions.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with engineering resources and write/maintain technical docs.

Responsibilities

  • Supports a global 24/7 operations team for infrastructure, devices, products, and solutions.
  • Provides Tier 3 incident analysis, troubleshooting, and hands-on fix across IT domains.
  • Coordinates with Engineering for advanced troubleshooting and testing.
  • Performs scheduled maintenance, updates, and upgrades.
  • Manages patches across servers and workstations within security domains.
  • Monitors capacity, performance, and SLAs; reports on improvements.
  • Contributes to CSI by researching new technologies and benefits.
  • Develops test cases/scripts for Beta and Acceptance testing.
  • Supports transfer of designs through blue/green deployments.
  • Collaborates with gov. stakeholders to refine requirements and ensure operability.
  • Authors SOPs and knowledge base articles; assists with CDRL reports.

The Opportunity:

The CIS program supports our intelligence customer deliver IT services to conduct its globally distributed operations. We are driving an exciting technological transformation of customer IT services by leading the design, development, implementation, and operation of cutting‑edge solutions. This includes continuous service improvement through the modernization of IT system infrastructure.

CACI is looking for an experienced, innovative, and motivated IT Operations Specialist to support the mission objectives and needs of the customer, the Defense Intelligence Agency.

The position is contingent upon award of the DIA SITE III CIO Infrastructure Services (CIS) contract.

Responsibilities:
  • Serves as a key member of the global, 24/7 operations team supporting all infrastructure, devices, products, and solutions
  • Provides comprehensive Tier 3 support, including incident analysis, troubleshooting, break/fix, and hands‑on touch labor across multiple IT domains
  • Coordinates with Engineering resources for advanced troubleshooting
  • Performs scheduled and ad hoc maintenance, updates, and upgrades per authorized service interruption schedules
  • Provides continuous patch management for designated infrastructure (workstations, servers) across all networks and security domains
  • Provides information and coordinates on approved Plan of Action and Milestones
  • Monitors and analyzes capacity, performance, and service‑level metrics to maintain optimal infrastructure utilization and prevent incidents
  • Participates in Continual Service Improvement (CSI) by researching new technologies and articulating evolutionary benefits to stakeholders
  • Uses Lab facilities to promote incident resolution and test the feasibility of new designs
  • Develops test cases and scripts for Beta and Acceptance testing to ensure complete coverage prior to deployment
  • Implements the transfer of engineered solutions through Blue/Green fielding
  • Collaborates with Engineering teams and Government stakeholders to refine requirements and ensure system reliability and operability
  • Works with technical writers to develop and maintain SOPs and knowledge base artifacts
  • Aids in creating CDRL documentation, reports, and data

Qualifications:
Required:

  • An AA and 14+ years of experience, BS/BA and 12+ years of experience, MS/MA and 10+ years of experience, or PhD and 8+ years of experience
  • Applicable vendor, professional or OEM specific certificationMinimum of 6 years of hands‑on experience integrating, operating, and maintaining IT hardware and software solutions
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with engineering resources for advanced troubleshooting and work closely with technical writers and engineering peers
  • Willingness to learn new skills and new technologies.
Desired:
  • Degree in Science, Technology, or Engineering
  • Broad, working knowledge across multiple IT disciplines, including endpoint systems, storage arrays, platform administration, system patching, and enterprise monitoring tools
  • Familiarity with IC ITE services and classified environments
  • Familiarity with Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) or evaluating new storage technologies
  • ITIL 4 Foundation Certification
